Manual therapy involves the Physiotherapist using their hands to help mobilize joints and tissues in the body. The goal of manual therapy is to help facilitate the repair of tissues, restore range of movement, reduce pain and improve flexibility.
VitalBalance Physio has a number of modalities to choose from such as acupuncture, shockwave, ultrasound, interferential curernt, muscle stim, laser , heat and cold therapy. Your therpist will choose the best modality to use as an adjunct to your treatment.
Pelvic floor Physiotherapy involves internal and external assessment of the pelvic floor muscles. Similarly to other muscles in the body the pelvic floor needs to have strength, endurance, speed, and coordination. Pelvic floor Physiotherapists are trained to assess this area and determine the best approach to treatment.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. If applicable, clothes that allow exposure of the problem area is encouraged. You are welcome to bring and change into an extra pair of clothes in the clinic.
Private Insurance
Most insurance companies cover Physiotherapy treatment. We offer direct billing for all major insurance companies including: Manulife, Canada Life, Greenshield, Medavie Blue Cross, Chamber of Commerce, Johnson Inc. , GroupHEALTH, Desjardins, Sunlife, ClaimSecure, Maximum Benefit and Industrial Alliance.
If we are not able to direct bill your insurance company they will require a copy of the receipt from your treatment showing that it was paid in full and a copy of the Doctor referral.

No a Doctor's referral is not necessary to be treated by a Physiotherapist, as they are a primary healthcare provider. However, some insurance plans require them for billing. We encourage you to reach out to your provider if you have any questions and bring your referral with you to your appointment if you have one.
An initial physiotherapy assessment which lasts 1 hour and you recieve one-on-one treatment with the therapist costs $85.00. Follow-up treatment lasts 30 minutes, is again one-on-one with the therapist, and costs $65.00. Specialized assesssment and treatment for vestibular and pelvic health conditions is $100.00 for initial assessment and $85.00 for follow-up sessions.
